Behavior distrurbances of learning disabled children in primary school

Abstract
In order to study behavior disturbances and intelligence quotient of the children with learning disability of two primary schools in a local province (Hampyung) from July to November, 1976, the author investigated parental age at birth of the children, educational levels, occupations of the parents, family size, sibling order, and parental attitude with emphasis upon relationship between them and the sigificance of behavior disturbances,
The results as followed.
1. Of the parental age at birth of the children, the highest was age of 3040 group by father, age of 21-30 group by mother.
2. Of the parental education level, both parents were low.
3. In the occupational aspects, the highest was the group of agriculture by both parents, the next were the groups of commerce, public officers and employ by father, and the group of the unemployed by mother respectively.
4. In the aspect of family size and sibling order, the family number was 4.5 in average belonged the large family in most cases, and sibling order of the highest frequency was middle third in most cases.
5. Of the parental attitudes toward the children, indifferent attitudes was the highest frequency by both parents, overanxious attitude and abandonment were next in order of frequency.
6. Of the behavior disturbances of the children, overt unaceptable behavior was-the highest, next was hyperactive behavior. Behavior disturbances of the children such as enuresis, stuttering was in high proportion comparing to those of general children.
7. In the aspect of intelligence quotient, 23 (55%) of the children was in borderline level of mental retardation, 9(22.5%) mild, 1(2.5%) moderate.
As described above, behavior disturbances of the children with learning disability showed prominently more frequency than those of general children, with meaningful significance on the relationship between behavior disturbances and various influencing factors such as parental attitude, educational bevel, family size and sibling-order.
